Job summary

Alpaca, a US-headquartered brokerage infrastructure leader, is seeking an experienced SRE to keep our trading platform reliable and observable. You will work across cloud infrastructure, a Kubernetes platform, observability stack, messaging layer, and data layer to support rapid growth.

You will focus on PostgreSQL reliability on the trading-critical path, participate in incident response, and collaborate with a global team to ship robust, scalable infrastructure with strong security/compliance

Qualifications

• 4+ years in SRE, DevOps, Platform/Infrastructure, or backend with production ops ownership.
• Hands-on with Kubernetes, GitOps, PostgreSQL in production, cloud networking, and Linux.
• Incidents response experience and strong Go or Python skills.

Job description

Who You Are (Must-Haves):

• 4+ years in SRE, DevOps, Platform/Infrastructure, or backend engineering with production operations ownership.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, GitOps, PostgreSQL in production, cloud networking, and Linux.
• Practiced in incident response and proficient in Go or Python with strong communication skills.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Deeper PostgreSQL experience, typed SQL access layers in Go, and production messaging systems.
• Security and compliance experience in regulated environments.
• Familiarity with trading, brokerage, or regulated fintech domains.
