Job summary

Google is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer to keep our public services highly available, fast, and scalable. This role blends software and operations, giving you authority to fix, extend, and scale the code behind systems used by billions.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field and 2 years of software development. Preferred: Master’s degree and 2 years designing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• Master’s degree and distributed systems experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Write product or system development code.
• Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices.
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product updates and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and impact.
• Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
