Job summary

Cvent, a leader in meetings, events, and hospitality technology, seeks a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to own edge security, on-call rotation, and production reliability at enterprise scale in Tysons, VA.

You will collaborate with product and security teams, drive automation via AWS CDK, handle incident response, and help shape AI-assisted workflows while delivering robust security and performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or cloud operations in production environments.
• Hands-on experience with AWS WAF, Shield Advanced, or CloudFront at real scale; ownership and incident resolution.
• TLS and certificate lifecycle management for production systems.
• Infrastructure as Code with AWS CDK or CloudFormation; you write and review changes.
• Splunk fluency for WAF log analysis and dashboards.
• Incident management experience; able to act as IC and drive RCA.

Responsibilities

• Own the edge security and routing layer, including WAF/CDK deployments and CloudFront management.
• Lead the on-call rotation for WAF/Shield and the production edge; triage incidents and write postmortems.
• Triage blocked requests, traffic spikes, bots, and design guidance for new apps.
• Manage edge protection estate: TLS, WAF rule life-cycle, and CloudFront dependencies.
• Develop automation for edge infrastructure using AWS CDK and PR-based workflows; apply CI/CD practices.
• Apply AI tooling to accelerate incident triage, cost analysis, and knowledge retrieval; expand AI-assisted workflows.
• Build team knowledge: runbooks, WAF rule catalogs, Shield posture guidelines, platform docs.
• Collaborate with product security and other SRE teams for holistic edge security.
