Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years as a DBA with emphasis on SQL Server performance tuning.
• Strong query tuning, indexing strategies, and execution plan analysis.
• Familiarity with DMVs, SQL Profiler, Extended Events and Query Store.
• 2+ years Snowflake and dbt for data warehousing.
• 3+ years AWS cloud services (S3, Glue, DMS, Lambda, Redshift).
• Solid ETL/ELT understanding with Airflow emphasis.
• Strong T-SQL and scripting (PowerShell or Python).
• HA/DR design experience (Always On, log shipping, clustering).
• Translate performance insights to developers and infra teams.
• Willing to apply AI to DBA tasks and processes.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, tune, and optimize database performance for mission-critical SQL Server environments.
• Perform deep analysis of slow-running queries, indexes, and workloads using advanced monitoring tools.
• Partner with developers to improve SQL code, optimize schema, and ensure scalable architecture.
• Implement, maintain, and support database monitoring tools for proactive detection of issues.
• Administer and support SQL Server databases: user access, backups, patching, replication.
• Provide performance reviews and configurations for Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL as needed.
• Develop and maintain documentation for performance standards and tuning methodologies.
• Participate in capacity planning, workload forecasting, and resource reviews.
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery strategies are optimized and cost-effective.
• Manage multiple projects and tune databases for several enterprise products.
• Monitor and support data pipelines built in Airflow and dbt.
• Work on AWS to monitor and handle ETL/ELT tools like Glue and DMS.
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders in a fast-paced multi-database environment.
