Job summary

Vitaver & Associates, Inc. seeks a Sr. SQL DBA for a 12‑month onsite project in Little Rock, AR. Start ASAP. Requires 4+ years of SQL Server admin, SQL Server 2022 experience, Windows Server, backups, DR planning, and Always On availability.

You will install/upgrade SQL Server instances, monitor logs, manage security, perform tuning, and coordinate AWS storage. On-site only with possible relocation as needed.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of SQL Server database administration
• Experience with SQL Server 2022 (or later)
• Experience with Windows Server administration (>3 years)
• Experience with installing and upgrading SQL Servers
• Experience with routine database maintenance
• Experience with SQL Server Agent and jobs
• Experience with monitoring error/event logs
• Experience with SQL Server native tools and services (Profiler, Extended Events, Performance Monitor, etc.)
• Experience with security/auditing (encryption, authentication)
• Experience with capacity planning for storage/db objects
• Experience with AWS storage and Windows Failover Clustering
• Experience with backup/recovery and DR planning
• Experience with T‑SQL coding and ETL methodologies
• Experience with VLDBs and high-availability methods
• Experience with on-prem and AWS environments

Responsibilities

• Provide reliable, secure enterprise-wide support for AIRS production/data servers
• Install and upgrade SQL Server instances and perform routine maintenance
• Manage SQL Server security, auditing, and encryption
• Establish backup standards and recovery procedures to meet RPO/RTO
• Plan storage capacity and maintain disk storage on AWS and WFCS
• Support high-availability configurations (Always On, VLDB)
• Monitor and troubleshoot high-intensity systems with online and batch workloads
• Provide 24-hour support as needed
