Job summary

TeleSolv Consulting, LLC seeks an experienced Senior SQL Database Administrator to provide enterprise SQL Server administration, reliability, and security for mission-critical applications in our Washington, DC environment.

You will install, patch, monitor, tune, back up, and recover databases, collaborate with .NET, Azure, and DevOps teams, and ensure performance and availability while supporting deployment cycles across federal services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 7+ years of database administration experience.
• 5+ years of Microsoft SQL Server experience in enterprise production environments.
• Strong SQL Server administration and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with database backup and recovery.
• Experience with database performance tuning.
• Ability to complete government‑required criminal history checks.

Description

TeleSolv Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior SQL Database Administrator (Senior SQL DBA) to provide enterprise database administration and operational support for Microsoft SQL Server environments supporting mission‑critical applications. The successful candidate will help ensure database availability, reliability, performance and security while working independently and collaborating with application‑development and other technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer Microsoft SQL Server databases supporting enterprise applications.


• Install, configure, maintain, patch and upgrade SQL Server environments.


• Monitor database health, availability, capacity and performance.


• Conduct database performance analysis and tuning.


• Develop and maintain database backup and recovery processes.


• Troubleshoot database performance and availability issues.


• Support database security and access‑control requirements.


• Assist application‑development teams with database design and configuration.


• Support database changes associated with application releases.


• Maintain database configurations and technical documentation.


• Support production database incident and problem resolution.


• Collaborate with .NET developers, Azure developers, DevOps engineers and other technical personnel.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree.


• At least 7 years of database administration experience.


• At least 5 years of Microsoft SQL Server experience in enterprise production environments.


• Strong SQL Server administration and troubleshooting experience.


• Experience supporting production databases and business‑critical applications.


• Experience with database backup and recovery.


• Experience with database performance tuning.


• Ability to successfully complete the Government‑required criminal‑history check, fingerprinting and badging process.
