Job summary

ESPN Creative Studio in Bristol, CT is seeking an experienced Video Editor to contribute to fast-paced sports content across ESPN platforms. You will collaborate with Edit teams to craft compelling storytelling and ensure high-quality video and audio.

The role requires 4+ years editing, advanced knowledge of non-linear editors (Premiere, Avid, Grass Valley Edius), and strong After Effects, Audition, Illustrator and Photoshop skills, plus the ability to train teammates and adapt to tight

Qualifications

• A minimum of 4 years editing or related experience.
• Advanced understanding of non-linear editing software (Adobe Premiere, Avid, Grass Valley Edius or Qube, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (After Effects, Audition, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.).
• Skilled in media transfer workflows (ingest/publish/export).
• Strong understanding of audio and video broadcast quality control (video scopes, audio levels, CALM Act compliance, etc.).
• Ability to collaborate and work in a quick turn-around, sport newsroom environment.
• Candidates must have a good computer background (Microsoft Office, Slack, Workfront, etc.).
• Demonstrates strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Flexibility to work overtime and alter shifts/days off to accommodate projects and departmental objectives.

Responsibilities

• Edit content using non-linear editing software in a fast-paced sport news environment.
• Collaborate across Edit areas and support the creative process.
• Ensure ESPN standards for video and audio quality.
• Maintain knowledge of edit workflow, software, and facility layout.
• Adhere to media organization and naming conventions.
• Build relationships with partners and understand integration with Creative Studio.
• Train less experienced editors on edit workflows and software.
• Provide feedback on training initiatives and project contributions.
• Keep updated on industry technology and establish new workflows.
