Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Splunk Engineer to support a cybersecurity program focused on enterprise security monitoring, threat detection, and incident response. This on-site role is located in Newington, VA and will design, administer, and optimize Splunk environments to strengthen security visibility and incident response.

Responsibilities include deploying Splunk Enterprise, building detection content, and leading data onboarding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• 10+ years in Splunk engineering or SIEM/security ops.
• Experience with Splunk Enterprise, log management, correlation, alerts.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy and maintain Splunk Enterprise in a large-scale environment.
• Develop correlation searches, dashboards, data models, and alerts.
• Lead data onboarding: parsing, normalization, CIM mapping, data source integration.
• Perform health checks, troubleshooting, and capacity planning.
• Collaborate with SOC and security teams to improve detection and response.
