Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Specialist, Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Engineer to design, develop, and test DSP-enabled software for advanced tactical radio systems.

You will work with hardware/software interfaces and participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle. Candidates should be proficient in embedded C/C++, DSP/RF concepts, and RTOS environments (VxWorks, Linux, QNX) and be prepared to obtain a US security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience; Graduate Degree with 4+ years; or in lieu of a degree, 10+ years of prior related experience.
• Proficient with embedded C/C++, real‑time, multi‑threaded programming.
• Proficient with DSP and RF concepts and technology.
• Experience with real‑time operating systems such as VxWorks RTOS, Linux, or QNX.
• Ability to analyze large, complex software systems and develop tests and documentation.
• Must be able to obtain a US security clearance.

Job Description

The senior specialist embedded software and digital signal processing engineer designs, develops and extensively tests complex engineering solutions for advanced tactical radio operating system and waveform software. Works to achieve operational targets with direct impact on the departmental results. Works closely with cross‑functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements and design of the overall system. Participates in all phases of the software development life cycle.

Essential Functions

• Proficient with embedded C/C++, object‑oriented design, real‑time, multi‑threaded programming
• Proficient with DSP and RF concepts and technology
• Experience with real‑time operating systems (e.g. VxWorks RTOS, Linux, QNX)
• Ability to quickly analyze and understand large and complex existing software systems
• Ability to develop software test procedures, software programs, and related documentation
• Ability to identify, track, and repair software defects
• Ability to work effectively in a multi‑disciplinary team environment
• Ability to clearly and succinctly convey information and ideas
• Contributes to the development of goals for the department and planning efforts
• Must be able to obtain a US security clearance

Qualifications

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Maryland, and New York is $97,000 - $180,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
