What is the Opportunity?

Reporting to the Project Controls Director, the Senior Project Controls Specialist will provide project controls support to Aecon’s ongoing mega‑projects in the Nuclear sector.

Citizenship Requirement

This position requires access to nuclear facilities and information governed by U.S. federal regulations. Applicants must be U.S. citizens to meet eligibility and security clearance requirements.

What You’ll Do Here
  • Complete all roles & responsibilities expected of a Project Controls Specialist.
  • Assist in developing, establishing, and maintaining the project’s cost management systems.
  • Participate in customer and internal management project status reporting meetings.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
  • Provide subject‑matter expertise on customized reporting tools and dashboards.
  • Monitor project health and performance, ensuring key metrics are well articulated to leadership.
  • Conduct detailed analysis on key performance metrics (e.g., CPI, SPI, commodity tracking) and propose corrective actions.
  • Support the implementation of an Earned Value Management plan to measure performance, identify variances, and inform accurate forecasting.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of project‑specific change management, schedule management, and risk management plans.
  • Analyze labor rates to gauge economic impacts and update forecasts accordingly.
  • Lead meetings focused on schedule progress assessments and coordination.
  • Perform regular field tours to validate progress.
  • Manage integration of subcontractor schedules and review for schedule quality.
  • Administer Aecon’s P6 database, maintaining data integrity and setting standards.
  • Facilitate periodic project review meetings as the liaison representing the Project Controls team.

  • Cost management or estimating systems expertise (e.g., Hard Dollar, EcoSys, PRISM).
Salary Range & Benefits

Base Salary Range: $120,000.00 – $150,000.00 annually
