L3Harris is recruiting for a Senior Specialist, Program Finance in Huntsville, AL. This role focuses on EVMS-driven financial performance across programs, with emphasis on budgeting, cost control, and risk management.

The analyst partners with Program Management and Engineering to ensure accurate forecasts and timely reporting. Responsibilities include developing time-phased budgets, EV data compliance, EACs, ETC/EAC projections, and customer briefings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior program finance experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior program finance experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior program finance experience.

Responsibilities

  • Strong knowledge of financial performance of their programs, providing management with an early warning of potential performance issues, identifying risks and offering solutions.
  • Guide program financials including development of time-phased integrated budgets and schedules, Earned Value (EV) data compliance and reporting, cost accounting and ongoing overseeing of cost and schedule integration.
  • Budgeting, cost control and variance analysis, internal/external reporting, risk management and financial support.
  • Development of quarterly EACs; analyze/assist in accurate projection of ETC, EAC and LRE data.
  • Support and/or lead financial analysts with organization of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), creation and maintenance of charge numbers.
  • Support and/or lead financial analysts in monitoring costs and personnel ensuring that actuals are within budget and charged to the correct end objective.
  • Support and/or lead financial analysts with workforce planning, forecasting and reporting.
  • Accounting data extraction and reconciliation
  • Generate program financial artifacts such as EV reports, graphs, and analysis, as required to include customer reporting.
  • Develop and present briefing of program financial status to customer
  • Train or coach PMO and CAMS with internal reports on cost and schedule performance
  • Provide guidance, coaching and training to finance professionals at lower levels
  • Communicates within and outside the organization to explain and influence changes to practices and processes.
  • Provides suggestions and implementation of new process improvement initiatives
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis, data integrity checks, and validations related to program financials
  • Working knowledge of FAR, CAS, and GAAP
  • Mentoring of Jr. analysts on how to perform extensive investigations and understands root cause of problems
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Description:

Our Financial Analysts play a key role in keeping our departments and programs on track. All departments utilize Earned Value Management System (EVMS) to keep all projects and programs moving in the same direction with accurate and complete information for our customers. We are seeking a proactive, self-starter with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to be able to collaborate with key functional stakeholders including Program Management and Engineering. Ideal candidate must be detail oriented with good organizational skills and capable of multi-tasking and the ability to work with moderate day-to-day supervision. Successful candidates will demonstrate an aptitude for efficiency, problem-solving, and resourcefulness, with a commitment to quality while developing their leadership skills as a key business partner.

Essential Functions:

  • Strong knowledge of financial performance of their programs, providing management with an early warning of potential performance issues, identifying risks and offering solutions

  • Support and/or lead financial analysts in monitoring costs and personnel ensuring that actuals are within budget and charged to the correct end objective

  • Support and/or lead financial analysts with workforce planning, forecasting and reporting

Qualifications:

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • A broad experience and understanding with business financial management techniques including government and commercial contracts, earned value analysis, cost analysis, financial planning, cash flow, progress payments and billing milestones

  • Strong level knowledge of Earned Value and EVMS highly desired.

  • Advanced experience with Excel and other MS OFFICE tools

  • Ability to build collaborative relationships, earn trust, and thrive in an inclusive environment

  • Experience with creating financial forecasts

  • DoD contractor experience preferred
