Job summary

About the Department

The Boulder Site is home to the specialized technical operations/CMC team for oligonucleotides and RNAi therapeutics. The CMC team works alongside Quality, Regulatory, Technical Operations and RNAi Early Development professionals at our Boulder, Colorado facility and works closely with our teams in Lexington, Massachusetts. The Position

This role is responsible for overseeing and executing domestic logistics operations for the Boulder site, serving as the primary point of contact for all shipment-related activities. The position manages the end-to-end movement of research materials, raw materials, drug substances, and drug products, ensuring timely delivery, compliance with trade regulations, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders. Key responsibilities include coordinating shipments, monitoring critical milestones, completing shipping documentation, and supporting import/export compliance activities as needed. The role also drives operational excellence through continuous improvement of shipping processes, shipment tracking systems, and outsourced inventory management. It partners with contract manufacturers, warehouses, quality assurance, and other stakeholders to optimize inventory, investigate logistics-related deviations, implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs), and ensure product integrity, including temperature-controlled transportation. Additionally, the position analyses logistics costs, courier performance, and shipping quality metrics while supporting strategic logistics projects and ensuring adherence to customs, trade compliance, and regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions
  • Primary point of contact for all activities regarding domestic Logistics for CMC BoulderLocal shipping support for site BoulderEnsures prompt shipment related communications to key internal and external stakeholdersInitiates, monitor, and complete shipments associated with research material, raw materials, drug substance, drug productPrepares all necessary data and confirmation of key milestones for shipments (departure, arrival, customs clearance, PODs, etc.)Ad-hoc support of international shipments and global trade compliance related activitiesImprove tracking system for shipmentsLeverage Novo Nordisk HQ processes and contracts where appropriate to improve the shipping processManagement of outsourced inventory (Raw Materials, Drug Substance, Drug Product)Lead continuous improvement activities at outsourced CMOsReview and execution to discard expired material as needed at warehouses to ensure inventory optimizationDrive the internal and external investigation of errors or non-conformances and prepare corrective and preventative action plans (CAPAs) in conjunction with QA and impacted departmentsImport/export experience – ensure trade complianceAd-hoc filings with Customs broker and US Customs and Border ProtectionHTS classification and material valuations to ensure material is identified appropriatelyIncoterms to ensure shipment terms are appropriateAd-hoc shipping and logistics projectsReview and analysis of shipping costs and courier invoicesReview and analysis of temperature-controlled shipments to maintain temperature requirements in transitFiling of temperature/quality events as neededCross trained in global logistics responsibilities
Physical Requirements

Travel 10%. Travel to other Novo Nordisk locations, storage facilities, CMO’s may be required up to 10% of the time.

The base compensation range for this position is $83,400 - $127,500. Base compensation is determined based on a number of factors. This position is also eligible for a company bonus based on individual and company performance. Novo Nordisk offers long-term incentive compensation and or company vehicles depending on the position's level or other company factors.
