Axsome Therapeutics, Inc. in New York City is seeking a Senior Specialist, Clinical Trial Recruitment, to support the clinical team with patient recruitment and site engagement strategies. The role requires on-site presence at least three days per week.

You will partner with the Clinical Trial Recruitment Team to develop recruitment materials, assess central campaigns, and monitor enrollment metrics to meet study goals. Prior biotech/pharma experience and knowledge of FDA/GCP/ICH are essential.

About This Role:

Axsome Therapeutics is seeking a Senior Specialist, Clinical Trial Recruitment, with a clinical trial background, and awareness of site engagement and recruitment tactics, to support the clinical team in the development and execution of innovative patient recruitment and site engagement strategies. This position achieves these goals by partnering with the Clinical Trial Recruitment Team to assist in the development of clinical trial recruitment materials and campaigns. The Senior Specialist, Clinical Trial Recruitment, will also work with the clinical team to proactively identify opportunities and challenges related to patient recruitment and retention.

This role is based at Axsome’s HQ in New York City with an on‑site requirement of at least three days per week. We are unable to consider candidates who are looking for fully remote roles.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

• Partner with the Clinical Trial Recruitment Managers to help plan & execute strategic initiatives for trial‑specific patient recruitment and retention efforts for assigned clinical studies
• Assist in the development of study‑specific recruitment materials and help assess the feasibility of central recruitment campaigns
• Collaborate with selected recruitment vendors that offer innovative solutions or approaches
• Provide feedback to Clinical Trial Recruitment Managers on recruitment materials (written content and design elements) before the Clinical, Regulatory, and Medical reviews
• Monitor weekly enrollment metrics and work alongside the clinical team to meet/exceed enrollment goals for assigned studies
• Share best practices and lessons learned with the Clinical Trial Recruitment Managers
• Assist in tracking and presenting data from central recruitment campaigns
• Attend internal and external meetings and provide updates on recruitment activities
• Assist with developing content such as newsletters and presentations
• Liaise with clinical sites to evaluate site‑specific recruitment initiatives and determine the potential, ROI, along with clinical team
• Perform outreach as necessary for underperforming clinical sites to evaluate enrollment goals
• Proactively develop solutions and communicate feedback to clinical teams

Requirements / Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in life sciences, health care or related discipline required
• At least 3 years of experience in patient recruitment discipline in a biotech/pharmaceutical company, clinical research organization (CRO), or patient recruitment vendor required. Digital marketing experience preferred
• Experience in developing and/or supporting clinical study patient recruitment strategies
• Experience in rare disease / difficult to recruit populations is a plus
• Ability to work on site Monday, Tuesday & Thursday. We are unable to consider candidates who are looking for fully remote roles

Experience, Knowledge And Skills

• Knowledge and understanding of FDA, GCP and ICH guidelines
• Must have strong organization skills, be a team player yet function independently and comfortable interacting with vendors, investigational sites, and advocacy groups
• Comfortable multi‑tasking in a fast‑paced small company environment and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities
• Excellent team player: willingness and ability to fill functional gaps in a growing organization

Salary and Benefits

The anticipated salary range for this role is $85,000 - $105,000. The salary offer will be based on a variety of factors, including experience, qualifications, internal equity and location. Axsome offers a competitive employment package that includes an annual bonus, significant equity and a generous benefits package.
