Job summary

Firefly Aerospace seeks a Senior Thermal Manager to lead spacecraft thermal engineering across multiple programs. You will mentor engineers, guide staffing, and drive rigorous analyses and testing from design through flight.

The role requires expert knowledge of heat transfer, thermal control systems, and Thermal Desktop coordination, with relocation to the greater Austin area expected.

Qualifications

• Senior level engineering degree and 8+ years in spacecraft thermal analysis.
• Proven leadership in managing engineers and staffing.
• Expert in heat transfer and thermal control systems for spacecraft.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Thermal Engineers across multiple spacecraft programs.
• Define processes, standards, and tools for thermal modeling.
• Mentor team members and drive staffing and performance.
• Defend analyses and ensure technical rigor in deliverables.
• Organize testing, including vehicle-level thermal vacuum tests.
