Job summary

Varda Space Industries seeks an experienced engineer to advance in-space hardware reliability. You will partner with design and manufacturing to define test plans, contain non-conforming products, and drive root-cause investigations to reduce risk.

You will perform rigorous analyses and support regulatory compliance through evidence-based verification. You will own design reviews, qualification campaigns, and quality tooling, applying PFMEA, SPC, and APQP to ensure flight hardware excellence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in aerospace, design, quality, or related engineering.
• Bachelor's in aerospace/CS/EE/manufacturing/mechanical/materials.
• Commitment to lean quality principles without compromising safety.
• Hands-on hardware test, qualification, troubleshooting, or failure analysis.
• Experience applying process controls in high-volume manufacturing/QA.
• Experience generating/analyzing data for production insight.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills with a drive to improve reliability.

Responsibilities

• Partner with design and manufacturing to create test and inspection plans.
• Contain non-conforming product and guide quality inspectors and engineers.
• Lead failure investigations to identify and mitigate root causes.
• Provide peer reviews of hardware during design reviews and tests.
• Perform FMEA and ensure test coverage and manufacturability of flight hardware.
• Own vehicle-level deliverables for regulatory compliance and analyses.
• Support mission assurance risk management and mitigation tracking.
