Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Redondo Beach, CA seeks a Staff Propulsion Engineer for the Spacecraft Propulsion Subsystem. You will lead architecture and design of propulsion, oversee fluid components procurement, and guide testing campaigns across flight hardware.

The role requires a STEM degree and extensive propulsion experience; active U.S. Government SCI access or Top Secret clearance is required. You will interface with customers and suppliers while coordinating cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s/Ph.D. with 8+–12+ years in propulsion engineering.
• Experience with monopropellant or bipropellant propulsion systems.
• Active U.S. Government SCI access or Top Secret clearance ability.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and design of the spacecraft propulsion system.
• Oversee selection and procurement of fluid components.
• Perform analyses in fluid mechanics, combustion, aerodynamics, thermal and stress.
• Guide mechanical design and oversee hot-fire testing on flight hardware.
• Interface with program customers and suppliers.
