Job summary

RTX is seeking a Spacecraft Concept & Mission Engineer for the Southwest region in an onsite role in Tucson, AZ. You will develop satellite concepts, assess mission CONOPs, and support national security space programs within the Advanced Technology organization.

The role emphasizes mission analysis, performance modeling, and tool development using STK, Python, MATLAB, and C++. A TS clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Depth in at least one system-level or subsystem-level technical domain.
• Experience with Python, MATLAB, and/or C++ to model physical systems.
• Active TS clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Tasking includes vehicle design, system sizing, mission performance analysis, and trajectory optimization.
• Analyze notional missions and hardware for feasibility; collaborate across disciplines to improve models.
• Develop common mission analysis, performance analysis, and mission planning toolsets.
• Utilize grid computing to generate and analyze large datasets.
• Produce visualizations of complex systems and mission CONOPs in STK or similar tools.
• Coordinate with product line management and customers.
• Work with programs & AT leadership to mature technologies for new business development and capture; pursue IRAD and IP disclosures.
• Engage in mission planning software development and testing.
