Job summary

VTG in Chantilly, VA is seeking a Space Vehicle Attitude Control Systems Engineer to monitor, track, and report progress on spaceflight hardware in production and test for a classified program. You will engage in ACS and mechanical actuator design, requirements development and verification, and unit integration and test for a next-generation spacecraft architecture.

Responsibilities include reviewing specifications and system requirements, tracking issues, supporting launch and on-orbit tests,

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• 9+ years experience with a Bachelor’s degree; 7+ with a Master’s; 4+ with a PhD/JD.
• Experience with spacecraft ACS hardware and software design, manufacture, simulation, and test.

Responsibilities

• Review and coordinate changes to ACS and propulsion specifications, ICDs, and system-level requirements.
• Track development issues and attend unit, subsystem, and system-level design reviews.
• Support launch and spacecraft on-orbit test as required.
• Identify and assess emerging risks and develop burn-down plans.
• Review developer’s readiness to proceed into spacecraft test at various levels of assembly.
