Firefly Aerospace, Inc. is seeking a System Configuration Engineer in Texas to own vehicle‑level configuration management, CAD integration, and BOM traceability across hardware, software, and test artifacts.

You will coordinate with design, manufacturing, and integration teams to ensure accurate metadata and compliant configurations. The role requires a BS in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred), 3+ years CAD/assembly experience, GD&T proficiency, scripting ability, and experience

Qualifications

• BS in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience with CAD design and complex assembly management.
• Expert in GD&T, design for manufacturing and design for assembly.
• Experience scripting languages and process automation.
• Experience with Agile Project Management using Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket).

Responsabilités

• Own configuration management for your vehicle, maintaining traceability between revisions of hardware, software, and test plans.
• Own the vehicle‑level CAD integration, assembly hierarchy and drawings.
• Serve as reviewer and approver for all lower‑level assembly drawings.
• Collaborate with subsystem design leads to ensure complete metadata and alignment with manufacturing.
• Publish vehicle test configurations for test plan and procedure authoring.
• Manage Mass Growth Allowance process and vehicle mass properties predictions/verification.
• Administer change review board and ensure traceability to configuration.
• Drive release of CDR deliverables before design freeze.
• Lead continuous improvements to system design and manufacturing practices.
