Katalyst Space in Colorado is seeking a senior systems engineer to lead architecture for advanced robotic spacecraft from concept to flight operations. You will own system-level requirements across subsystems, software, autonomy, and mission operations, balancing objectives and risks in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The role requires a strong aerospace background, leadership in multi-disciplinary teams, and excellent technical communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, systems engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years in aerospace, defense, robotics, or autonomous systems.
• Experience leading system architecture, requirements management, integration, verification, and validation for highly integrated HW/SW.
• Strong technical communication with engineers, leaders, customers and stakeholders.
• Thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments with ownership and sound engineering judgement.

Responsibilities

• Lead system architecture, requirements development, and technical execution for advanced robotic spacecraft from concept through flight operations.
• Own the definition, allocation, and verification of system-level requirements across spacecraft subsystems, software, autonomy, and mission operations.
• Drive cross-functional engineering efforts, balancing mission objectives, technical performance, schedule, cost, and risk to deliver spacecraft programs.
• Develop and maintain system models, interface definitions, trade studies, and technical baselines guiding design decisions.
• Create analyses, trade studies, and simulations to support technical and product development decisions.
