Job summary

CFD Research Corporation is seeking a Remote Sensing Software Engineer to develop advanced SDA and remote sensing exploitation pipelines. You will guide technical direction and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to build high-fidelity space observation analytics.

This role requires active TS/SCI eligibility and 3–8+ years of experience in remote sensing, image processing, and GEOINT. Dayton, OH area onsite with competitive benefits and a focus on scalable computing.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility is required.
• 3–8+ years of remote sensing, image processing, or GEOINT data exploitation.
• Experience with satellite characterization, orbital regimes, or SDA workflows.
• Proficiency in Python or other OO languages (e.g., C++, JavaScript).
• Understanding of enterprise software development practices: version control, HPC/cloud interfacing, containerization, unit testing, Linux, and AGILE.
• Experience with ML systems for imagery processing, target detection, tracking, or classification.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related STEM field.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end remote sensing processing systems for EO/IR missions.
• Develop radiometric and spectral response models.
• Support development of advanced imaging algorithms including super-resolution, deconvolution, and low-SNR enhancement.
• Implement ML-based anomaly detection, behavior classification, and object discrimination.
• Design multi-sensor fusion pipelines using GEOINT, Radar, RF, and EO/IR data.
• Conduct trajectory estimation and 3D kinematic modeling including IOD and parallax.
• Architect scalable scientific computing solutions using Python, C++, CUDA, HPC clusters, or cloud-native platforms.
