Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Reston, VA, is seeking a Senior Mission Operations Engineer to lead on-orbit operations for the TeraWave program. You will develop concepts of operations, create operational products, and lead on-console crews across the mission lifecycle, from planning to early orbit activities.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in spacecraft operations development, real-time support, and hands-on leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Computer Science, Systems, or related field.
• At least 3+ years of experience managing technical teams.
• 12+ years of proven spacecraft operations development and on-orbit support experience.
• Experience developing spacecraft operations products, including procedures and telemetry displays.
• Experience with configuration and product data management.

Responsibilities

• Develop mission plans, operations concepts, tools, and processes for real-time spacecraft and ground operations.
• Lead small teams to create procedures, executables, telemetry displays, and documentation.
• Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and maximize reuse and backward compatibility.
• Test and validate ops products in hardware and software simulation environments.
• Support systems engineering to develop spacecraft concepts of operations.
• Provide on-console leadership during launch and early orbit phase.
