Job summary

Axiom Space is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Systems Administrator to join the mission-focused ground systems team. You will design, implement, and support Windows and Linux environments, virtualization, cloud services, and storage to enable critical mission operations.

You will drive automation, security hardening, and incident response while collaborating with cross-functional teams and NASA partners. This role emphasizes reliability, scalability, and hands-on leadership.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive systems administration experience in enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and optimize Windows Server and Linux environments (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO).
• Manage virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere/ESXi, Hyper-V).
• Design and maintain hybrid cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS).
• Own storage and backup systems; test DR procedures.
• Patch and vulnerability remediation at scale for Linux and Windows.
• Collaborate on security baselines (CIS, NIST 800-171/53).
• Automate operations with PowerShell, Python, and Bash.
• Lead infrastructure projects from scoping to documentation.
• Serve as Tier 3 escalation and participate in on-call rotation.
• Maintain runbooks and mentor junior team members.
• Develop observability platforms (metrics/logs/traces, SLOs).
• Influence architecture reviews and reliability from the start.
• Support ground systems integration and mission operations testing.
