Job summary

Cowboy Space Corp. in San Carlos, CA seeks a Senior Integration & Test Engineer to own end-to-end validation of complex electro-mechanical and avionics systems. You will bring up, integrate, and test hardware to ensure reliable performance in mission-critical environments.

The role is hands-on and cross-functional, partnering with hardware, avionics, and software teams to move systems from prototype to flight-ready status.

Qualifications

• Experience with integration, test, or validation of hardware systems.
• Hands-on experience with test automation, instrumentation, and lab equipment.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and interface control documents.
• Scripting in Python or similar for test automation.
• Background in avionics, RF, or sensors is a plus.
• Comfortable in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
• Experience building test setups: fixtures, harnessing, racks, and data acquisition.

Responsibilities

• Own system-level integration and test of hardware and avionics systems.
• Design, build, and maintain test infrastructure (racks, fixtures, harnesses).
• Develop automated and manual test procedures for validation.
• Lead bring-up, debugging, and root-cause analysis of electrical systems.
• Execute environmental and functional testing (thermal, vibration, etc.).
• Collaborate across hardware, firmware, and software teams to validate performance.
• Improve test coverage, reliability, and scalability of test systems.
• Support flight qualification and launch readiness activities.
• Support payload integration checkouts and pre-flight verification.
