Job summary

True Anomaly is seeking a Principal Embedded Systems Security Engineer to own and advance the security of spacecraft, radio systems, and hardware platforms. You will lead security architecture, PKI, and defensive controls across flight software, firmware, and hardware, with hands-on coding in C/C++ and exposure to FIPS/CNSA/CCSDS standards.

Qualifications

• Active security clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Deep hands-on expertise in embedded, hardware, and firmware security.
• Strong software development skills in C and C++, plus low-level languages.

Responsibilities

• Own security architecture, threat modeling, and defensive controls for spacecraft platform.
• Architect and build security platforms, tooling, and foundational services across flight software, firmware, and hardware.
• Design and implement PKI for resource-constrained spacecraft: device authentication, signing, secure boot.
• Meet stringent government standards (FIPS 140-3, CNSA 2.0, CCSDS).
• Drive post-quantum cryptography migration and SDLS.
• Harden build pipelines and protect supply-chain integrity of outputs and dependencies.
• Lead security assessments and penetration testing for spacecraft and RF systems.
• Promote secure design practices across hardware and software teams.
