K2 Space is hiring for a data-centric software engineer to build the digital backbone powering satellite design, manufacturing, and mission operations. You will connect engineering, production, and mission control, delivering data-driven solutions across the organization.

The role emphasizes collaboration, reliability, and scalable data systems, with a focus on data quality, architecture, and close partnership with cross-functional teams in a fast-growing space startup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 12+ years in software engineering in a STEM field.
• Strong data modeling and data migration experience with schema design.
• Proficiency with SQL databases (MS SQL, PostgreSQL) and cloud data warehouses (Snowflake).
• Experience with hosted DB solutions (AWS RDS) and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, MongoDB).
• Hands-on with REST API design/consumption and CI/CD deployment.

Responsibilities

• Develop highly reliable data solutions from factory floors to mission control.
• Evolve data design to improve spacecraft design, build, and operation processes.
• Collaborate with engineers and leaders to translate challenges into data solutions.
• Own data solutions from concept to product, driving architecture and data integrity.
• Lead data architecture, drive optimization, and manage tradeoffs.
