Chartwells Higher Education is seeking a motivated Sous Chef I for California Poly Tech, Vista Grande, CA. The role supports food program success, oversees culinary functions, and ensures quality and presentation align with client guidelines and health regulations.

You will train and direct back-of-house staff, coordinate production, and help manage inventory and ordering to meet operational goals.

Qualifications

• 5 years of related culinary experience including 1 year at the management level.
• Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.
• Knowledge of food trends, quality, sanitation, safety and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating and participating in the preparation and cooking of various food items.
• Assist with planning and creating menus.
• Roll out new culinary programs with marketing and culinary team.
• Assist with managing cost controls and expenditure.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
