Job summary

Vizient is seeking a senior sourcing and contracting leader to drive high-impact strategies that reduce spend and improve operations. You will negotiate sophisticated terms with Legal, oversee the full sourcing lifecycle across healthcare categories, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients and internal teams.

The role emphasizes leadership of cross-functional negotiations with physicians, clinicians, hospital executives, and supplier partners, plus strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree preferred in Business, Supply Chain, Legal Studies, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in strategic sourcing, contracting, healthcare supply chain, or related field required.
• Expertise in drafting, redlining, and negotiating complex terms and conditions.
• Proven ability to lead complex sourcing initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, including physicians, clinicians, hospital leadership, and supplier partners.
• Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills for facilitating supplier discussions and aligning internal stakeholders and clients throughout sourcing and negotiation processes.
• Hybrid work model requires three days per week in the office (Columbus, OH).
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead negotiation of complex contract terms and conditions and structure innovative solutions meeting client needs.
• Partner with Legal to draft, refine, and validate contract language for accuracy, compliance, and risk mitigation.
• Manage the full sourcing lifecycle, including opportunity assessment, RFP design, bid evaluation, supplier selection, and implementation support.
• Develop sourcing strategies based on spend analysis, market trends, benchmarking, and supplier dynamics.
• Identify and propose cost-savings initiatives grounded in financial analysis and market intelligence.
• Oversee contract maintenance, including amendments, renewals, compliance evaluation, and performance monitoring.
• Use analytical tools and contracting platforms to support workflow efficiency, documentation accuracy, and savings tracking.
• Present negotiation updates, sourcing strategies, risks, and recommendations to clients and internal leadership.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

You will influence outcomes with strategic insight, market intelligence, and strong judgment, serving as a trusted advisor to clients and internal teams. This role is designed for exceptional negotiators who excel in complex discussions, think critically, and lead with confidence. While exceptional negotiators from any industry can thrive here, candidates with experience leading sourcing and contracting across complex clinical categories (e.g., Cardiac, Vascular, Neurology and Orthopedics ) and partnering with physicians, clinicians, and hospital executives will be especially well positioned for success.

Qualifications:

• Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills, which are critical for facilitating supplier discussions, clearly articulating contract changes, and ensuring alignment among internal stakeholders and clients throughout the sourcing and negotiation process.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
• This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring three days per week in the office (Columbus, OH).

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $88,900.00 to $155,500.00.
