Job summary

Anderson Environmental Contracting LLC (AEC) is seeking an experienced Sonic Driller to lead our Environmental and Geotechnical Drilling Division. This role safely operates sonic drilling rigs, leads the crew, coordinates daily field activities, and manages drilling operations from site setup through borehole or well completion and abandonment.

Qualifications

• Five years in the drilling industry.
• Three years operating sonic drilling rigs independently.
• Demonstrated leadership or supervision of a drilling crew.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Washington and/or Oregon driller’s license or ability to obtain within set period after hire.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate sonic drilling rigs and support equipment.
• Lead and supervise the assigned drilling crew.
• Coordinate drilling activities from site setup to completion and abandonment.
• Review drilling plans, project requirements, and site conditions before starting work.
• Organize and prepare drilling equipment, tooling, materials, and supplies.
• Direct setup, operation, maintenance, and breakdown of equipment.
• Record crew hours, equipment usage, and materials for each project.
• Complete daily drilling reports, logs, and inspection documents.
• Conduct safety meetings, job safety analyses, and site training.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions and equipment issues.
• Inspect drilling rigs and equipment regularly.
• Coordinate routine maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Monitor project costs and field productivity.
• Maintain licenses, certifications, and continuing education.
