Job summary

Equity Bank in Wichita, Kansas is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to design and guide delivery of secure, scalable banking solutions across core banking, digital channels, and cloud infrastructure.

You will translate business objectives into architecture, lead cross-functional teams, and ensure alignment with enterprise standards while supporting modernization and AI/data initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in CS/Information Systems/Business Admin with Tech focus; AI/Data initiatives relevance.
• 8+ years in software/integration architecture or senior engineering; 3+ years designing enterprise-scale solutions.
• Expertise in at least two of: Cloud (AWS/Azure), Integration (REST/GraphQL, ESB/iPaaS), Data (warehouse/lakehouse), Security (Zero Trust, PKI).
• Strong documentation skills (UML/C4, ADRs, IaC).
• Regulated environments experience preferred; ability to simplify complex ecosystems.
• Executive communication; influence without authority; pragmatic decision-making balancing resilience and cost.
• Leadership in cross-functional delivery and vendor orchestration.
• Bachelor’s degree and Certifications (preferred) in related fields.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end solution design for banking systems (deposits, lending, digital account opening, payments).
• Define integration approaches (REST/GraphQL, event streaming, ETL/iPaaS) and data models for reuse.
• Produce and maintain architecture artifacts (diagrams, contracts, threat models) aligned to ETS standards.
• Partner with product owners, engineering, InfoSec, and vendors to decompose requirements and plan delivery.
• Provide technical guidance during build and cutover; ensure nonfunctional requirements are met.
• Govern design quality through reviews and maintain architecture governance.
