Job summary

Capio Group in California is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead the technical architecture for a large-scale cannabis licensing platform. This is a full-time remote role focusing on secure, scalable, metadata-driven configurations within a government context.

You will drive Salesforce architecture, data modeling, integration, and governance, coordinating with government SMEs to ensure compliance with ordinances, inspections, and fee management.

Qualifications

• Must have at least three years of government experience with large budgets or populations.
• Must have at least three years with Salesforce solutions in permitting, inspections, and code enforcement.
• Must have at least three years overseeing Salesforce implementation activities.
• Within the past five years, leading at least one enterprise Salesforce implementation for government.
• Must have at least three years of experience with cannabis licensing software configurations.
• Must have at least three years of metadata-driven, low-code cannabis licensing platform experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable, secure enterprise SaaS architecture for licensing, permitting, inspections, compliance, and enforcement.
• Lead Salesforce-based design and integration, including data models, security controls, and platform capabilities.
• Develop metadata-driven configurations for dynamic forms, licensing workflows, fees, and access control.
• Establish cloud security architecture aligned with FedRAMP or SOC 2; AWS GovCloud or Azure.
• Design secure RESTful APIs and data exchange with City applications and GIS systems.
• Define enterprise data models, data dictionaries, and audit trail requirements.
• Define data migration approaches for legacy or heavily customized systems.
• Review designs, oversee standards, and manage upgrade impact on functionality.
• Collaborate with government SMEs to align architecture with ordinances, inspections, and fee management.
• Design controls for permissions, separation of duties, and auditability.
