Job summary

Cummins is seeking a Senior Solution Architect to design scalable, reliable architectures for our Columbus, IN operations. You will define component structures, interfaces, and reference architectures to promote standardization and reusability across teams and regions.

You will partner with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver innovative solutions, evaluate emerging technologies, and lead pilot programs to validate capabilities for future opportunities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software development, application engineering, or related technical roles.
• Strong knowledge of modern architectural patterns, cloud platforms and integration technologies.
• Prior hands-on experience as a Software Developer and/or Technical Lead is preferred.
• Experience designing complex applications and architectures for enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain global reference architectures for consistency and reuse across teams and regions.
• Build partnerships with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver value and user adoption.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and run pilots to validate new capabilities for future opportunities.
• Assess capacity and technology needs, advising on growth, performance, and long-term objectives.
• Collaborate with others to meet shared objectives.
• Support decision-quality processes to keep projects moving forward.
• Apply change management processes to achieve and sustain results.
• Define and develop architecture deliverables and building blocks for systems landscape.
• Lead analysis of solution fit, decomposing systems to meet requirements across security and governance.
• Manage issues and risks to maximize positive outcomes.
