Job summary

Insomniac Design, a global digital agency headquartered in Washington D.C., seeks a Senior Solutions Architect to lead client engagements and design enterprise architectures. You will oversee the technical relationship between clients and the development team, with a focus on data modeling, schema design, and cloud-first web application development.

You will apply expertise across Python/Scala/Java, participate in pre-sales, mentor teammates, and drive innovations that align with client needs

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 3+ years in a technical client-facing role.
• 10+ years of development across Python, Scala, R, Java or PHP.
• Ability to participate in our Software proficiency test.
• Experience with FastAPI and Cloud Development Kits; data schema design & modeling.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with client relationships.
• Experience in an Agile development environment.
• Experience with cloud platforms: GCP, AWS, Azure.
• Experience with front-end frameworks such as React.
• Experience supporting pre-sales for enterprise clients.

Senior Solutions Architect

Will be responsible for leading client engagements, designing enterprise architecture solutions, and overseeing the technical relationship between our clients and the development team. You will have adept experience in pre-sales support, managing successful client engagements, data modeling, schema design, systems architecture, and web application development in a cloud-first environment.

Responsibilities

• Expected to have a significant impact within the immediate department, driving innovation and leading strategic initiatives.
• Invents efficient solutions to problems with no known resolutions, designs and implements frameworks, processes and tools to address complex challenges.
• Able to invent automation, processes, or align work to industry best practices or revolutionary ideas, influencing the overall direction of the organization, shaping organizational strategy.
• Invents and/or leads implementation of product, process, automation and/or streamlines work with industry best practices or revolutionary ideas, contributing to measurable improvements at the department level.
• Enables and unlocks new business strategies through the development of innovative processes.
• Mentors all team members, actively participates in the hiring process, leads business improvements, and plays a key role in performance management.
• Partner with clients to understand their business needs and design and document detailed solutions that meet those requirements. This includes developing white papers, client proposals, presentations, system architecture diagrams, and others as appropriate.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure the technical feasibility of solutions.
• Lead production and delivery of technical cloud-native application software development proposals to clients.
• Manage client relationships, acting as the primary technical point of contact.
• Define, document, and lead data schema definition and design.
• Participate as a software development team member, contributing code as a project team developer, and providing software development thought leadership.
• Develop and implement best practices for technical delivery, such as coding standards, code reviews, and automated testing.
• Troubleshoot technical issues.
• Work with the development team to deliver solutions through to production.
• Mentors software team members, actively participates in the hiring process, leads internal business process improvements, and plays a key role in performance management.
• Support pre-sales in conjunction with our strategy and business development teams.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in web development, cloud platforms, and data schema design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• 10+ years of development experience within multiple languages such as Python, Scala, R, Java or PHP.
• Ability to participate in our Software proficiency test.
