Job summary

Spencer Ogden seeks a Supervising Solid Waste Engineer / Project Manager to lead complex solid waste and remediation projects in Southern California, combining senior technical leadership with strong project management and client development capabilities.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years in environmental, remediation and/or solid waste engineering in California, with a California PE or ability to obtain within 12 months, and a proven track record in consulting and business development.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of environmental remediation and/or solid waste engineering experience with strong California track record.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• California PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Experience in environmental or engineering consulting.
• Proven ability to develop client relationships and generate new consulting work.
• Strong commercial understanding: proposals, budgets, schedules and project financial performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex solid waste and environmental remediation projects from inception to completion.
• Provide technical leadership and senior review of designs, reports, drawings and specs.
• Oversee landfill gas systems, closure, geosynthetics and vapor intrusion mitigation.
• Provide senior oversight during construction and QA, handling RFIs and submittals.
• Manage scope, schedule, budgets, quality and risk; ensure client satisfaction.
• Build relationships with clients, regulators, contractors and partners.
• Mentor engineers, scientists and project staff; support proposals and negotiations.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities across Southern California.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across the organization.
