Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Solar Operator III to operate equipment per project plans while adhering to all Mortenson safety policies and procedures. The operator will perform routine maintenance, monitor equipment, and help maintain a clean, safe work area on construction sites.

Responsibilities include following work plans, operating a range of equipment (grader to Bobcat), and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and load charts.
• Strong teamwork orientation with a positive attitude and customer service mindset.
• Able to read project plans and follow task cards or work plans.
• Physical capability for lifting up to 50 lbs and repetitive motions.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment per project requirements (grader, dozer, cable plow, excavator, backhoe, trackhoe, loader, forklift/telehandler, Bobcat/skid-steer).
• Perform routine maintenance: lubricate, fuel, clean; monitor for malfunctions.
• Maintain housekeeping and safe work area; comply with safety regulations.
• Follow work plans and pre-task cards; document observations as needed.
• Assist and adapt to additional duties as assigned.
