Job summary

Jobtailor in Milford, MO is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to lead MBSE for mechatronic subsystems, developing BTS and SSTS and delivering clear diagrams and BO lists.

You will collaborate with Validation, safety, and software teams, maintain CalBOM templates, and support FMEA and OBD-related requirements while applying agile practices across the program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with systems focus or related discipline.
• Minimum 6+ years of relevant experience in mechatronic systems or subsystems.
• Experience with MBSE and development of subsystems specifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Behavior Technical Specifications (BTS) and Sub-System Technical Specifications (SSTS).
• Create and maintain blueprints and functional block diagrams; design MBSE diagrams or GUI.
• Establish and uphold FMEA for subsystems and support safety requirements (OBD).
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Validation Engineers and software teams.
• Support CalBOM template development and TFRP planning.
• Lead root-cause analysis for sub-system issues and assist agile software requirements.

• Create and maintain Behavior Technical Specifications (BTS)
• Create and maintain Sub-System Technical Specifications (SSTS)
• Develop and maintain blueprints and/or functional block diagrams
• Design and Sustain Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) diagrams or GUI
• Establish and Uphold Subsystem/Solution Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEAs)
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other SSLEs
• Create and update Calibration Bill of Materials (CalBOM) template
• Support definition and implementation of Testable Functionality Roll-Out Plan (TFRP)
• Collaborate with Validation Engineers
• Support the root cause analysis for applicable sub-system related issues
• Support the development of requirements related to OBD regulations or calibrations
• Support the development and tagging of safety requirements
• Operate in agile development of software-related requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Systems/Mechatronic/Controls/Electrical/ Software/Mechanical) or related discipline.
• Minimum of 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience related to mechatronic systems or subsystems.
• Basic knowledge of controls theory and the software development process.
• Physics-based understanding of the Voice-of-Customer.
• Must be legally allowed to work in US and able to travel to Canada.
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills, including independent judgment and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues.
• Proven ability in project management skills and ability to teach others.
• Ability to prioritize work with limited direction.

Demonstrates expertise in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and the development of technical specifications for subsystems, with a strong focus on mechatronic systems and compliance with OBD regulations. Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and manage projects effectively while applying analytical problem-solving skills.
