Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Core Reliability to scale our production environment by improving reliability, security, and deployment safety across services. You will lead high-impact reliability projects and collaborate with engineering teams to secure configurations and secrets at scale.

You will work on canary releases, deployment capabilities, and drive a culture of reliability, partnering with T0/T1 services and cross-functional stakeholders to reduce incidents.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building production services.
• Experience designing reliable, scalable distributed systems.
• Experience with Ruby, Go, Terraform and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure).
• Familiarity with observability/monitoring tools (Kibana, Datadog).
• Ability to communicate architectural decisions to stakeholders.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and delivery of reliability projects and features across Coinbase's service environment.
• Partner with critical T0/T1 services to improve scalability and reduce toil.
• Build and enhance systems that securely manage service configurations and secrets at scale.
• Improve canary-based release systems and expand deployment capabilities.
• Drive reliability best practices across engineering teams.
