Ambiq seeks a Senior Software Program Manager to lead planning, coordination, and execution of AmbiqSuite SDK programs across current and next-generation ARM Cortex-M based SoCs. You’ll partner with software and hardware teams from pre-silicon planning through silicon bring-up, production releases, and maintenance.

You will develop executable plans, track milestones, manage risks, and drive best practices to deliver high-quality software to customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (MS preferred).
  • 10+ years of technical program management or engineering leadership in embedded software for semiconductors or consumer electronics.
  • Strong understanding of embedded software development practices, lifecycles, and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience creating integrated project schedules from engineering estimates and managing execution across multiple programs.
  • Ability to communicate with software developers and technical leaders and translate discussions into actionable plans.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, scheduling and execution of multiple embedded software development programs from pre-silicon to production releases.
  • Develop integrated plans with engineering teams to estimate effort, identify dependencies, and milestones.
  • Track execution across projects; identify risks, constraints, and dependencies.
  • Prioritize work with design engineering and management; balance resources across programs.
  • Coordinate software activities with SoC architecture, RTL design, design verification, validation, and applications engineering.
  • Drive cross-functional communication and timely escalation of program risks.
  • Monitor software quality metrics, defect trends, release readiness, and execution health.
  • Develop dashboards and executive status reports for schedules, risks, and resources.
  • Support software release planning, customer commitments, and product launches.

This role will be on-site 5 days a week in NW Austin.

Scope

As the Senior Software Program Manager, you will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of software development programs for Ambiq's AmbiqSuite SDK across current and next-generation ARM Cortex-M based SoCs. You will work closely with software and hardware engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle—from pre-silicon planning through silicon bring-up, production software releases, and long-term maintenance.

Working with software architects, engineering managers, and technical leads, you will develop realistic execution plans,identifydependenciesand resource constraints, track progress against milestones, and proactively manage program risks. Success in this role requiresstrongtechnical understanding of embedded software development, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate engineering discussions into executable project plans.

You will collaborate across software, architecture, RTL design, design verification, validation, applicationsengineering, and product management teamsacross multiple geographies.You will help define priorities,identifyrisks, track progress, andprovidedata-driven insights that enabletimelydecision-making. You will serve as a technical leader and trusted partner, championing softwaredevelopment best practices, quality metrics, and continuous process improvement to help deliver world-class software solutions to our customers.

  • Partnerwith design engineering and management to prioritize work, balance resources across programs, and recommend trade-offs whenschedulesorstaffingchange.
  • CoordinatesoftwareactivitieswithSoCarchitecture, RTLdesign,designverification,validation,applicationsengineering,productmanagement,andmarketingteams.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of technical program management or engineering leadership experience in embedded softwarewithinsemiconductor or consumer electronics development.
  • Strong understanding of embedded software development practices, software development lifecycles, and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience developing integrated project schedules from engineering estimates and managing execution across multiple concurrent programs.
  • Working knowledge of software development workflows, CI/CD systems, defect tracking, release management, and project management tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with software developers and technical leaders and to translate technical discussions into actionable project plans.
  • Experience coordinatingwithcross-functional engineering teams including software, RTL design, architecture, design verification, validation, and applications engineering.
  • Solid understanding of embedded hardware platforms and board-level system design, sufficient to analyze hardware/software dependencies and support bring-up activities.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to influence decisions across engineering and executive leadership.
  • Experience with ARM Cortex-M–based embedded systems, RTOS environments, SDK development, or semiconductor product development is highly desirable.
  • Experience using AI-assisted software development tools and LLMs to improve engineering productivity is a plus.
