Job summary

Google is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary software team focused on extracting map features from vast datasets using ML and computer vision. You will guide product strategy, mentor engineers, and ensure scalable, reliable delivery across sites.

In this role you will oversee complex projects at scale, collaborate with stakeholders across the Geo organization, and help shape the future of autonomous mapping and in-car systems used by millions worldwide.

• Partner with senior architects to ensure ambiguous systems are driven toward solutions that scale and maintain high reliability.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and performance coaching to technical leads and engineers on the team.
• Review systems designs and product development code to solve complex problems and ensure engineering best practices.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 7 years of experience deploying Machine Learning models in production environments.
• Experience with Deep Learning, Computer Vision (e.g., object detection, OCR), and frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Experience with large-scale data processing systems.
• Ability to lead complex technical projects and collaborate with different stakeholders.
