Snowflake is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Trust & Platform Security team to build data movement policies and robust exfiltration protection across multi-cloud environments. You will work at the intersection of security policy and system enforcement, delivering scalable controls and audit-ready solutions.

The role requires 5+ years in software engineering with security focus, experience with distributed systems in Java/Go/C++, and cloud-native security controls on AWS/GCP/Azure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with security or infrastructure focus.
• Strong understanding of TLS/SSL, HTTP/S, DNS and Zero Trust.
• Experience designing distributed systems in Java, Go, or C++.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud-native security controls.
• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent.

• Design and implement core components of the Data Movement Policy (DMP) framework.
• Build and enhance Data Exfiltration Protection capabilities with controls and detection.
• Unify Context-Aware Access policies with perimeter controls into a policy engine.
• Author and review design documents for DMP and Perimeter Policy features.
• Partner with Product Management to translate requirements into engineering deliverables.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive secure, high-quality code.
• Own end-to-end delivery from design to production deployment.

We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer for our Trust Center team. This team is building the next generation of Data Exfiltration Protection (DXP) and unified Data Movement Policies (DMP) for Snowflake's cloud security infrastructure. You will work at the intersection of security policy and system enforcement, helping ensure that perimeter controls are robust, scalable, and deeply integrated with context-aware access frameworks.

AS A SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER, TRUST & PLATFORM SECURITY AT SNOWFLAKE, YOU WILL:

• Design and implement core components of the Data Movement Policy (DMP) framework, supporting complex multi-cloud and hybrid environments
• Build and enhance Data Exfiltration Protection capabilities, including ingress and egress controls and anomaly detection for data movement
• Contribute to the effort to unify Context-Aware Access policies with egress perimeter controls into a cohesive policy engine
• Author and review design documents for DMP and Perimeter Policy features, with a focus on reliability, low latency, and auditability
• Partner with Product Management and peer engineers to translate product requirements into well-scoped engineering deliverables
• Mentor junior engineers on the team and drive high standards for code quality, testing, and security-first development practices
• Own end-to-end delivery of features from design through production deployment

OUR IDEAL SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER, TRUST & PLATFORM SECURITY WILL HAVE:

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with meaningful exposure to infrastructure or security systems
• Strong understanding of network security fundamentals (TLS/SSL, HTTP/S, DNS), Zero Trust principles, or Data Loss Prevention (DLP) concepts
• Proven ability to design and build distributed systems in Java, Go, or C++
• Experience working with cloud-native security controls in AWS, GCP, or Azure (e.g., VPC Service Controls, Private Link), or equivalent experience
• Comfort working independently on complex technical problems while collaborating closely with cross-functional partners
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience

BONUS POINTS FOR THE FOLLOWING:

• Experience with content-aware or identity-driven data governance systems
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows and tooling
• Prior work on egress control, network perimeter enforcement, or policy engine design
• Contributions to open-source security projects or published security research

The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:

• The estimated base salary range for this role is $200,000 - $287,500.
• Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake’s bonus and equity plan.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
