Job summary

Apple Inc. in Cupertino, California, seeks a Senior Software Engineer for Translation & Multilingual Intelligence to build low-level frameworks that bridge ML models to translation experiences across platforms.

You will collaborate with Asset Management, Phone/FaceTime and Messages, driving feature development and masterfully debugging complex issues. The role requires strong OO design, multi-threaded and cross-process programming, plus leadership of projects and people.

Qualifications

• 5+ years development experience with Objective C and/or Swift.
• Experience in object-oriented software design and programming.
• Framework-level programming including multi-threaded architectures and cross-process communication.
• Accomplished debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field with 10+ years of industrial working experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop low-level frameworks and services that connect state-of-the-art ML models to Translation experiences across platforms.
• Collaborate with partner teams including Asset Management, Phone/FaceTime and Messages.
• Lead projects and people as a senior team member and contribute to overall system design.
• Develop and maintain new features, fix bugs, and improve performance across translation features.

Description

You will be primarily responsible for developing our low-level frameworks and services thatconnect state-of-the-art Machine Learning models and inference engines to the variety ofTranslation experiences across all of our platforms! You will be working with many partner teamsincluding Asset management, Phone/FaceTime and Messages.To succeed in this role, you are a strong programmer and a creative problem solver who enjoyslearning new things. You are passionate about developing new features, maintaining existingcode, fixing bugs, and contributing to overall system design. You are a great teammate whothrives in a dynamic environment with rapidly changing priorities. As a senior member of our team, you will be expected to be a leader of projects and people.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years development experience with Objective C and/or Swift
• Experience in object-oriented software design and programming

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years development experience with Objective-C and/or Swift
• Experience with user features that integrate or adopt language modeling technologies
• Understanding of issues with delivering features for an international audience
• Experience with AI Tools to support coding, reviews and code analysis

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $184,700 and $324,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
