Job summary

Morgan & Morgan is seeking a Software Engineering Tech Lead in New York to guide technical direction and mentor engineers in a fast-paced, agile environment. You will own the design and delivery of scalable systems using Python (FastAPI), React, and AWS.

This is a hands-on leadership role balancing code contributions with mentorship, reviews, and cross-functional collaboration with product managers and designers.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years in a tech lead or staff-level role, leading teams and projects.
  • Deep proficiency in Python, particularly with FastAPI or similar frameworks.
  • Strong experience with React and front-end application architecture.
  • Production experience with AWS and modern cloud-native architectures.
  • Demonstrated expertise in software testing, quality assurance, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and leading agile ceremonies.
  • Strong communicator and collaborator; able to lead design reviews and drive consensus.
  • Proven track record of mentoring and elevating teammates’ technical growth.

  • Drive technical alignment: Lead code reviews, design reviews, and engineering discussions that result in thoughtful, well‑documented decisions.
  • Champion documentation: Author and review technical design documents to guide team implementation and maintain long‑term clarity.

We’re looking for a Software Engineering Tech Lead who is passionate about building high-quality software and leading engineering teams with a strong sense of technical rigor and collaboration. Requirements

The anticipated full-time annualized salary range will be contingent upon various factors, including but not limited to, relevant experience, market data, job location, and other job‑related factors permitted by law. The listed salary range does not include a bonus, which is part of the total compensation package that may be offered upon employment.
