Job summary

Aquent is seeking an experienced software engineer to help design, develop, and support secure, enterprise-grade web applications in a critical industry. You will contribute to modern authentication journeys, including Passwordless Login and Risk Based Authentication, while leveraging AI-assisted tooling across the SDLC.

You’ll collaborate with product, architecture, and engineering teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions, write high-quality code, and ensure secure engineering practices

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years developing enterprise applications using Java, JavaScript, and modern web frameworks (Angular preferred).
• Strong experience in secure web applications and building or consuming REST APIs.
• Experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud Gateway or similar gateway patterns, and service-based architectures.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own design, development, testing, and support for complex app components and secure authentication features.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and engineers to decompose features and estimate delivery work.
• Design and implement secure, scalable authentication journeys using modern identity practices.
• Contribute to identity solutions like Passwordless Login and Risk Based Authentication.
• Build and consume REST APIs and reusable services aligned with platform standards.
• Maintain high standards for automated testing, CI/CD, security scanning, and release readiness.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and design discussions.
• Work with AI-assisted engineering tools across the SDLC and validate AI outputs for correctness.
