Job summary

VAST Data is seeking a Senior Developer to join our V-Force team, a hands-on role focused on solving high-impact problems within our storage stack and influencing large-scale system design.

Ideal candidates excel in C, C++, or Python, possess systems programming experience, and can work near the OS/kernel level. You’ll collaborate with R&D, product, and field teams to deliver customer-driven features and performance improvements.

Qualifications

• Strong development skills in C, C++, or Python.
• Systems programming experience and OS/kernel level work.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP and OSI networking.
• Familiarity with Git version control.
• Experience or interest in storage/file systems or block storage.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, Engineering, or related field.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced software developer with strong skills in C, C++, or Python to join our V-Force team—a specialized engineering squad embedded within R&D. this is a hands-on development position focused on solving the most challenging and high-impact problems across our platform.
