Job summary

Virta Health is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the ReCon team in a remote-first setup with Denver and San Francisco hubs. You will own the end-to-end quote-to-cash path, building Go services for contracts, billing, subscriptions, and claims while ensuring cross-system correctness with Salesforce and Zuora.

You’ll collaborate with finance and operations, apply AI where it adds value, and mentor peers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building and operating backend services in production.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and the failure modes that come with them — eventual consistency, ordering, idempotency.
• Strong SQL and comfort across application and analytics layers.
• Owned a system where correctness had consequences — billing, payments, or regulated reporting.
• Experience working with non-engineering stakeholders to translate problems into design decisions.
• Experience with a major cloud platform (GCP).
• Frontend development with React and TypeScript.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects end to end: shape ambiguous problems, drive design, review, and production ownership.
• Build and extend the Go services behind Virta's quote-to-cash path: contracts, billing, subscriptions, invoices, claims.
• Make billing correctness provable by expanding the reconciliation framework across Salesforce, Zuora, and clinical data.
• Improve billing and reconciliation data used by health plans and employers.
• Design self-service tools so finance and client ops can configure contracts and perform bulk changes without an engineer.
• Apply AI to accelerate development workflows and SDLC.
• Mentor engineers through code and design reviews.
