Job summary

7Seventy is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build and scale a student financial engagement platform. You will own features from design to deployment, working with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable software.

The role emphasizes hands-on backend and frontend work with TypeScript, Node.js, and React, plus AI-assisted development tools to improve context and collaboration across the team. Remote-friendly with onsite options.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience building and operating production systems at scale.
• Strong backend development experience with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Experience building modern frontend applications with React.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL queries.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
• Strong monitoring and observability practices.
• High-ownership, fast-delivery mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development of product features from initial design through implementation, deployment, and production support.
• Architect and build scalable backend services and APIs using TypeScript and Node.js.
• Contribute to modern frontend development, with React preferred.
• Design systems with reliability, observability, scalability, and maintainability in mind.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, Customer Experience, and Integrations teams.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain high standards for code quality and system design.
• Improve engineering processes, internal tooling, and documentation as the platform scales.
• Help shape technical decisions and contribute to engineering culture.
• Use AI-assisted development tools as a regular part of the workflow.
