Job summary

YO AI Labs is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help build reinforcement learning environments for evaluating AI models on software tasks. The role focuses on constructing reproducible tasks, deterministic verification, and reference solutions using MCP tools.

The position is a contractor engagement (~15 hours/week), fully remote, with responsibilities spanning bug fixing, feature implementation, refactoring, and performance tuning. No prior AI research experience is required.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python 3, Java, Rust, C++, or TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures.
• Experience debugging complex software issues.
• Experience with feature implementation and codebase refactoring.
• Strong attention to detail and communication.

Responsibilities

• Create reinforcement learning environments for software engineering tasks.
• Design tasks around bug fixing, feature development, refactoring and performance optimization.
• Build deterministic verification systems and reference solutions.
• Evaluate how AI agents handle complex codebases using MCP tools.
• Document solutions and provide clear technical feedback.
