Google LLC in Mountain View, CA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to drive Discover's personalized feed recommendations. You will design and ship scalable systems, collaborate with Search AI and Infra teams, and advance end-to-end ML pipelines.

Candidates have a strong background in software engineering, ML, and building production-grade recommendation models, with in-person interviews typical for this role.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience with end-to-end Machine Learning (model deployment, evaluation, data processing, debugging).
• 3 years of experience building and deploying recommendation systems models in production; and experience building architecture.

Mansioni

• Research and deploy ML models that identify content by combining multimodal LLM understanding and causal modeling to maximize exploration ROI at scale.
• Drive projects from problem formulation and experimentation design through model training, real-time serving architecture, and production launches, collaborating with multiple teams.
• Partner to align semantic applicant retrieval, ranking incentives, and warm-start handoffs so new content activates the organic recommendation flywheel.
• Lead zero-history discovery for top formats, enabling dynamically generated AI content to surface quickly.
• Evolve intelligent gatekeeping to bootstrap fresh content and prune unengaged content to keep the serving corpus current.
