Job summary

IBM Software in the United States is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to advance the Realtime Context Engine, focusing on multi-tenant, highly available compute infrastructure and core components for query execution and background materialization.

You will design and implement scalable query engine strategies, build platform infrastructure for Lightning tables, collaborate with product and other teams, and contribute to a robust, distributed database ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of professional work experience building database technologies.
• Experience building and operating large-scale database systems.
• Distributed Systems experience and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Query Engine Development: design and implement scalable query execution and caching at massive scale.
• Platform Engineering: build and maintain multi-tenant, highly available infrastructure powering tasks in the context engine.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: work with product management, design, and other engineering teams to integrate storage features.
