Job summary

Akina, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer 3 for a TS/SCI polygraph-cleared role in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. The candidate will develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems, leading teams when needed and addressing requirements from system level to component level.

Requirements include 20 years SWE experience, a Bachelor’s in CS or related field, and proficiency in Python, Kotlin/Java, Terraform, ElasticSearch/OpenSearch, and AWS. Salary range listed as $233k-$285k annually.

Qualifications

• In-scope poly within 7 years.
• Experience with Python, Kotlin/Java, Terraform, ElasticSearch/OpenSearch, and AWS.
• Twenty (20) years’ SWE experience in programs/contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
• Design and code new software or modify existing software to add features.
• Debug existing software and correct defects.
• Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance and data usage.
• Describe software design trade-offs and interface constraints to teammates and stakeholders.
• Serve as technical lead for multiple software development teams.
